The course fee is about Rs 9 lakh. "With the launch of this one-year full time course, IIM-A has become the only institute to have full protfolio of programmes in the field of management," Director of the institute Bakul Dholakia said while addressing the first batch of 33 students of the PGP-PMP here. IIM-A raises annual fees for two postgraduate coursesIIM Ahemedabad has increased fees for two post graduate courses by Rs 23,000 to Rs 2 lakhs. "The fees have been hiked from Rs 1.77 lakh to Rs two lakh," IIM-Ahmedabad Chairman Vijaypat Singhania told reporters after the institute's board of governors met here to decide on the matter. The fees for the postgraduate programme for executives (PGPX) too was hiked from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 14 lakh. According to Singhania, the IIM-A annually spends Rs 4 lakh per student for the management programme. "The cost of education is rising very rapidly due to inflation," he said. CBSE's bid for Sex Education hits roadblockCBSE's bid to introduce sex education in schools through its Adolescent Education program hit a roadblock, when Indian state of Maharashtra banned new Adolescent Education books. MLA's from both ruling as well as opposition parties had protested against this syllabus, fearing that sex education can corrupt the young minds. Along with CBSE syllabus, state has also withdrawn its own booklet - Kishorawastha Jivan Kaushalya Karyakram, that instructs teachers on how to introduce sex education on sex education. Supreme Court of India puts OBC reservation quota on holdSupreme court of India has put on hold the proposed quota for "other backward classes" category in central institutions like IITs, IIMs and AIIMS on 29th March 2007. This is being seen as a major setback for United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government. Parliament had passed a bill to this effect on December 14, 2006. IGNOU launches touch screen kiosk at campusIndira Gandhi National Open University vice chancellor Rajasekharan Pillai inaugurated an information kiosk at IGNOU campus on Sunday. This is a touch screen kiosk, which can be used by students to get general information like information related to address, admission, registration, grade-card and semester-wise term end exam results just by entering their enrolment numbers. This information is already available online. So this kiosk is in a way another platform to get this information.
