UPSC CSE Final Result 2025 Declared Today (March 2026) – Anuj Agnihotri Secures AIR 1

 

The wait is finally over! The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially announced the final results for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025 today, March 6, 2026. Ending months of anticipation, the commission has recommended 958 candidates for prestigious appointments in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and other Central Services (Group A and Group B).

 

The final merit list is based on the candidates' combined performance in the Mains written examination held in August 2025 and the Personality Tests (Interviews) conducted between December 2025 and February 2026.

 

Meet the UPSC CSE 2025 Toppers: A Diverse Trio Leads the Pack

This year’s results showcase incredible academic diversity at the very top. The top three positions have been secured by an MBBS doctor, an engineer, and a commerce graduate:

 
  • AIR 1 – Anuj Agnihotri: Hailing from Rawatbhata, Rajasthan, Anuj is an alumnus of AIIMS Jodhpur. Cracking the exam in his fifth attempt, the doctor-turned-administrator wishes to use his position to reform society.

     
  • AIR 2 – Rajeshwari Suve M: An engineer by background, Rajeshwari is the female topper this year, continuing the strong trend of women excelling in the civil services. In fact, 11 out of the top 25 candidates are women!

     
  • AIR 3 – Akansh Dhull: A 22-year-old commerce graduate from Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Akansh has brought pride to Chandigarh and Haryana with his stellar performance.

The government reported a total of 1,087 vacancies for the 2025 examination cycle. Here is the breakdown of the services offered:

Note: The UPSC is also maintaining a consolidated reserve list of 258 candidates. Additionally, the candidature of 348 candidates is provisional pending document verification.

How to Check and Download the UPSC CSE Final Result 2026

Candidates can access the final merit list by following these simple steps:

  1. Visit the official UPSC website at upsc.gov.in.

  2. On the homepage, click on the "Examination" tab or look under the "What's New" section.

  3. Click on the link titled "Final Result: Civil Services Examination, 2025".

  4. The final merit list PDF will open on your screen.

  5. Use the shortcut Ctrl + F (Windows) or Command + F (Mac) and type your roll number or name to find your rank.

  6. Download and save the PDF for future reference.

What's Next?

The marks of all candidates (both recommended and non-recommended) will be uploaded on the UPSC website within 15 days of this result declaration. Following this, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) will commence the service allocation process based on candidate ranks, category, and preferences submitted in their Detailed Application Form (DAF).
