Lucknow University to change CPMT date

The Lucknow University authorities have decided to change the date finalised for the Combined Pre-Medical Test 2008 for admissions in various medical colleges of the state.

They had earlier fixed May 11 as the date for examination. But it is clashing with CBSE PMT, 2008. Therefore, on Friday, university officers decided to change the date. While tentatively May 10 has been fixed, final decision will be taken after considering other aspects.

Meanwhile, in another meeting, university authorities decided to raise contingency fund of deans of faculties and heads of the departments.

While the contingency fund for deans (barring education faculty) has been proposed to be increased from Rs 15,000 to 50,000, that of heads of the department has been proposed to be increased from Rs 5,000 to Rs 15,000.

The proposal will be placed before finance committee and other administrative bodies of the university before being implemented.

The decision has been taken to strengthen decentralisation of the financial powers.
